The town of Silver Gate (permanent population: 13) is located only 1 mile from the Northeast gate of Yellowstone National Park. Step out the front door, hop in your car and start exploring the park within minutes.
Wolf Watchers, Wildlife Enthusiasts and Nature Photographers
Yellowstone’s Northeast corner is a hotbed for wildlife, especially the Lamar Valley, which is famous for its wolves. Winter wolf-watching in the Lamar is becoming more and more popular, and you won’t find a closer place to stay in winter than Silver Gate. Even without entering the park you’re likely to see wildlife right in town. Be sure to say hi to our neighbors: elk, deer, bison, fox, black and grizzly bear, pine marten and even the occasional wolf.
